UNIVERSITY AND TEACHING
Universidad Francisco de Vitoria
Since 2021, the Cardiology Service has been part of the Teaching Unit of the Faculty of Medicine of the Francisco de Vitoria University. La Luz Hospital welcomes students from said university in an innovative format as internal students, developing all their theoretical and practical training within the cardiology service.
Dr. Roberto Martín Reyes is part of the teaching staff and is an associate professor of the subject of Cardiology.
This collaboration includes a differential pedagogical approach, based fundamentally on the acquisition of skills, both technical and humanistic, supported by an internal student model for students from the 4th year of Medicine, which allows for less theoretical and much closer contact with the reality of clinical practice.
The two fundamental pillars on which our teaching activity is structured are excellence and commitment.
Continuing Education
Within the continuing training and with the objective that the entire service participates in said training, the UICAR holds a session simultaneously online for all hospitals, from 8 to 9 am.
That is why we have designed a program of multidisciplinary sessions in which different hospital teams can participate, such as; Internal Medicine, Neurology, Intensive Care Unit or Emergency, among others.
This session reviews the current patients (either in the ward or ICU), introduces surgical patients (Heart Team), and offers talks on specific topics that review the main advances in our area of expertise. Its purpose is to deepen knowledge on key topics in cardiovascular medicine and is open to participation from other departments at different hospitals.
