Heart Failure is a syndrome that affects almost 2% of the adult population (almost 800 thousand people in Spain). Its early detection and treatment is essential to improve its evolution.

Our Heart Failure unit is responsible for the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of patients suffering from heart failure. Our primary healthcare objective is the continued and comprehensive care of patients suffering from this disease. To achieve this, we have specialized medical and nursing personnel, as well as the most current technology and treatments to offer optimal management to our patients.

The Heart Failure unit is made up of a multidisciplinary team that allows for a comprehensive approach to patients throughout the entire trajectory of the disease: from the beginning, the decompensations that occur during the course of the disease and the periods of apparent stability.

The multidisciplinary unit is coordinated from a specific Heart Failure consultation, in which a specialist doctor and nurse help the patient understand their pathology, encourage self-care and carry out close monitoring that allows the optimization of treatment, in accordance with the recommendations. of the main scientific societies. From this consultation, the joint work is led with the other professionals who make up the multidisciplinary team and which includes specialists in: arrhythmias and device implantation, hemodynamics and interventional cardiology, cardiac surgery, advanced heart failure, genetics, advanced cardiac imaging and cardiac rehabilitation.

The objective of the unit is to guarantee that the management of heart failure is carried out in accordance with the recommendations of the clinical practice guidelines, to improve the prognosis and quality of life of patients in the most efficient way.
