Dr. Patricia Alonso

I am Dr. Patricia Alonso Rivero, pediatric cardiologist at the Comprehensive Cardiology Unit.
After graduating in medicine from the University of Valladolid, I moved to Madrid to specialize in pediatrics at the Gregorio Marañón hospital, where I was able to subspecialize in pediatric cardiology and currently develop my main professional activity in the area of familial heart disease. In addition to the cardiological part, I maintain my interest in general pediatrics also working in the pediatric service at the Ruber International Hospital in Madrid.
In current medical practice, clinical practice is as important as the development of research and teaching in order to continue progressing and to be able to offer our patients the best treatments, that is why I also have a diploma in statistics in health sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and I am part of the pediatric cardiology group of the Foundation for Biomedical Research of the Gregorio Marañón Hospital (FIBHGM) as an associate researcher in several clinical trials that are currently being developed, in addition to being a teaching collaborator at the Complutense University of Madrid.
I understand my work from the point of view of comprehensive care, not only of our little patients, but also helping parents to understand the process their child may go through and trying to reduce the understandable anxiety and worries that we would all have when thinking about in possible heart disease.
