Dr. Alvaro Leon Moreno

As a specialist in clinical cardiology, I am dedicated to offering a comprehensive and personalized approach to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. My training includes a Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Córdoba, where I also obtained a PhD, with a thesis that received the grade of Outstanding Cum Laude. My professional experience spans more than 15 years at the General University Hospital of Ciudad Real, where I have also had the privilege of directing two doctoral theses and collaborating on teaching projects.

In the field of clinical cardiology, I treat a wide variety of pathologies, including high blood pressure, heart failure, arrhythmias, coronary artery disease and valvular heart disease. I also work on preventing complications through the management of risk factors such as diabetes, high cholesterol and smoking.

For diagnosis and monitoring, I use advanced tools such as electrocardiogram, Doppler echocardiogram and stress tests, as well as ambulatory monitoring of blood pressure and heart rhythm, with the aim of offering precise and personalized care.

My approach is focused on providing a personal approach, supported by the latest scientific advances, to ensure that my patients feel cared for and safe. Throughout my career, I have actively participated in key research, with the publication of more than 40 articles in national and international journals, as well as book chapters. In addition, I have led studies in areas such as Tako Tsubo syndrome and the prevention of thromboembolic episodes in atrial fibrillation, which allows me to apply the most current knowledge in daily practice.
