La Comprehensive Cardiology Unit (UICAR) directed by the doctor Roberto Martin Reyes, expands its medical team with the incorporation of doctors Javier Fuertes Beneitez and Luis Calvo Orbe.
Both are specialists in all heart diseases, sports cardiology, interventional heart disease and hemodynamics, as well as in non-invasive diagnostic techniques. Both doctors have extensive professional experience.
With the new additions, the Cardiology service will increase patient care, improving the quality of care, as well as being able to increase the number of cardiovascular procedures per year and strengthen the service's Non-Invasive Cardiology Unit.
Dr. Javier Fuertes is an expert in advanced transthoracic echocardiography, a non-invasive diagnostic test used to study the heart, including its size, wall thickness, function, and valve behavior. He also specializes in transesophageal echocardiography, a procedure that uses shock waves to produce real-time moving images of the heart's interior. His role will also include performing stress tests, or ergometry.
For his part, Dr. Luis Calvo , who will serve as head of the Cardiovascular Risk Unit, is a specialist in interventional cardiology, ischemic heart disease and sports cardiology, with extensive experience in all cardiac pathologies and in functional and therapeutic tests of the specialty.
Both cardiologists will also take over the general cardiology outpatient consultations , dedicated to the diagnosis , monitoring and treatment of the main cardiovascular pathologies, ranging from ischemic heart disease to heart failure , as well as cardiomyopathies , valvular heart disease , arrhythmias and monitoring and control of cardiovascular risk factors such as high blood pressure and dyslipidemia.
