Dr. Julián Crosa Ruiz de Temiño
I am Dr. Julián Crosa Ruiz de Temiño, I am part of the Arrhythmias and Electrophysiology Unit and the Hospitalization, Outpatient Consultations and Non-invasive Tests Unit of the UICAR.
What is the Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology Unit based on?
We are a group of cardiology professionals specialized in the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of pathologies that involve the specific electrical conduction system of the heart, whether tachyarrhythmias or bradyarrhythmias.
What role does the Arrhythmias and Electrophysiology Unit play?
Through joint work with the rest of the specialized Units, we use non-invasive tools for the diagnosis of different arrhythmias and carry out interventional procedures for their treatment.
In the electrophysiology laboratory we perform ablation procedures for supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias, covering the wide spectrum of clinical presentations through different appropriate techniques tailored to each case and each particular patient.
The other part of interventional electrophysiology is the field of cardiac pacing devices (definitive pacemaker, implantable automatic defibrillators and cardiac resynchronization therapy) as well as the implantation of diagnostic devices (implantable subcutaneous Holter).
What is the objective of the Arrhythmias and Electrophysiology Unit?
Our fundamental objective is to offer patients all the resources and tools available for the correct diagnostic and therapeutic approach to their pathology, always considering the best for them and their preferences in the context of an evidence-based medical practice, with respect and warmth. .
What role does the Outpatient Consultation and Non-invasive Testing Unit play?
The cornerstone of modern medicine and cardiology is the consultation with the cardiologist for a detailed assessment of the symptoms that motivate the patient to ask the specialist for help. Through the anamnesis and physical examination, we obtain information that allows us to carry out the non-invasive tests that we will use to confirm or rule out the suspected diagnosis, and if required, refer the patients to the corresponding Unit.
