Dr. Mario Baquero Alonso

I am Dr. Mario Baquero Alonso, head of the Cardiology Service at the Quirónsalud Toledo Hospital, integrated within the UICAR.

What is the mission of the Cardiology Service at Hospital Quirónsalud Toledo?

The mission of the Cardiology Service of the Quirónsalud Toledo Hospital is to offer the population of Toledo quality cardiology, highly specialized and focused on patients, making available highly qualified professionals, top quality health services, a modern hospital structure and advanced technological means that allow the management of the entire spectrum of cardiovascular pathology in both the outpatient and hospital settings.

How is the Cardiology Service of the Quirónsalud Toledo Hospital organized?

Our service at the moment is made up, locally, of three cardiologists and a radiology technician specialized in echocardiography. This team ensures daily coverage of the hospitalization ward, outpatient consultations and complementary tests; It also offers a 365/7 consulting service for emergencies and other hospital services.

This local team is complemented in the outpatient setting by three other UICAR cardiologists, who come regularly to attend specific pediatric cardiology and arrhythmia consultations.

In addition to already having in Toledo most of the instruments for the non-invasive diagnosis of cardiac pathology, our integration into the UICAR allows us a very agile management of more specific or invasive tests, although the objective is that in the coming years These can be done in our center.

What is my profile as a clinician?

I am fundamentally a clinical cardiologist with more than 20 years of experience, with extensive continuing university training (master's degree in acute cardiac care, in cardiovascular prevention and cardiac rehabilitation, in echocardiography in medical emergencies, anesthesia, resuscitation and critical care and in clinical unit management , and with his own degree in thromboembolic disease and as a university expert in clinical reasoning in cardiology), and with a teaching vocation (tutor of the specialty since 2016).
