Dr. Javier Fuertes Benitez

I am Dr. Javier Fuertes Beneitez, clinical cardiologist at the Non-Invasive Cardiology Unit of the UICAR.

Graduated in medicine and surgery from the Complutense University of Madrid, after which I continued my training by completing the Cardiology Residency at the La Paz University Hospital in Madrid.

I have developed my professional activity mainly as a Specialist Physician in the Cardiology Area at the La Paz Hospital in Madrid, a position in which I continue today. My activity focuses fundamentally on the outpatient cardiology consultation, Cardiac Imaging Unit and on-call activity in the Coronary Unit.

Likewise, I have collaborated as an associate cardiologist in the Cardiology Service of the Sanatorio Nuestra Señora del Rosario in Madrid, being in charge of hospitalization, outpatient consultation and non-invasive cardiological tests.

By joining the Comprehensive Cardiology Unit, I hope to contribute my experience as a clinical cardiologist, with my main areas of interest being ischemic heart disease, valvular pathology, cardiomyopathies, heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, arterial hypertension and dyslipidemia.

I also have extensive experience in non-invasive cardiological tests: transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiogram, stress echocardiogram, ergometry, Holter ECG, ABPM, tilt table test
