Dr. Felipe Hernández Hernández

I am Dr. Felipe Hernández Hernández, an interventional cardiologist with extensive clinical experience. I have developed a large part of my professional career at the 12 de Octubre University Hospital and, more recently, at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra.
I am motivated and interested in offering quality care to our patients, with close and friendly treatment, while providing them with the ability to diagnose any problem in the cardiological sphere in an effective and precise way.
Participating in the technological development of new minimally invasive techniques that provide solutions to serious diseases has been one of my professional aspirations throughout my career. The concern to continue learning and teaching other colleagues, as well as the desire for research, are other pillars of my daily work.
In the field of Hemodynamics and Interventional Cardiology, I have been accredited by the Spanish Society of Cardiology since 2004. My field of experience includes percutaneous treatment with stents (minimally invasive) of complex coronary artery disease and various congenital and structural heart diseases (foramen ovale , atrial septal defect, left atrial appendage, TAVI).
Between 2012 and 2015 I was the Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Hemodynamics and Interventional Cardiology Section of the Spanish Society of Cardiology. I have belonged to the editorial board of the Spanish Journal of Cardiology since 2008 and of the REC Interventional Cardiology since 2018. I have participated in more than 40 multicenter and international research projects, in several of them as principal investigator. I have published more than 90 articles in national and international magazines and made more than 250 presentations at conferences. I completed the Program “Excellence in Hospital Management: towards value in health”, from the ESADE Business School (October 2018 – June 2019).
