On September 25, La Luz University Hospital will host the 1st Course on Clinical Application of New Developments in Cardiac Imaging, a training session specifically designed for clinical cardiologists, cardiac imaging specialists, and internal medicine physicians. Under the direction of Drs. Alejandra Carbonell San Román, Head of the Valvulopathies Unit at UICAR and Laura Galian Gay, a cardiologist at Quirónsalud Barcelona Hospital and Vall d'Hebron University Hospital, Barcelona. The event will offer a practical overview of advances in cardiac imaging applicable to the field of valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathies, and cardiovascular prevention strategies.
With an approach clearly applied to daily clinical practice, the course will address key aspects such as diagnosis and treatment of complex valvular pathologies, the latest updates in imaging for cardiomyopathies and ischemic heart disease, as well as its emerging role in cardio-oncology and heart failure. The day will be divided into three thematic sections: Valvulopathies and Aorta, Cardiomyopathies and Ischemic Heart Disease, and Cardiooncology, Prevention and Heart FailureThrough short presentations, case studies, and panel discussions, the exchange of knowledge among leading professionals nationwide will be encouraged.
Specialists from hospitals such as Ramón y Cajal, Vall d'Hebron, 12 de Octubre, La Paz, and Quirónsalud will participate, contributing their expertise in advanced techniques such as myocardial deformation, CT Photon Counting, and imaging in the context of cardiorenal syndrome.
