The MAIContinuum project is a program that aims to promote a multidisciplinary care process in which the specialties of cardiology, internal medicine, primary care, nephrology and emergency medicine seek to ensure the correct transition of care in hospitalized patients with heart failure.
Dr. Teresa Alvarado , head of the Heart Failure Unit, along with Dr. Roberto Martín Reyes, head of the Cardiology Department at UICAR , lead this program, which has the support and leadership of the managing director of the La Luz University Hospital , Christian Garriga.
Heart Failure is a syndrome that affects almost 2% of the adult population (almost 800 thousand people in Spain). Its early detection and treatment is essential to improve its evolution.
Our Heart Failure Unit is responsible for the diagnosis , treatment, and follow-up of patients with this condition. Our primary objective is to provide continuous and comprehensive care to patients with this disease. To achieve this, we have a team of specialized physicians and nurses, as well as the latest technology and treatments, to offer optimal management to our patients.
