Jorge Palazuelos, head of the Hemodynamics and Interventional Cardiology Unit at UICAR , led a distinguished training workshop in interventional cardiology , specifically designed for physicians in their early careers and fellowships. The workshop aimed to provide a balanced combination of theory and practice in this highly specialized field.
Interventional cardiology is a branch of cardiovascular medicine that focuses on the use of minimally invasive techniques to treat heart diseases, such as blocked coronary arteries and valve diseases. With the constant advancement of technology and techniques, it is essential to provide physicians-in-training with a solid foundation in this discipline to improve care and outcomes for patients.

The training workshop took place at the Melia Madrid Serrano hotel yesterday, Wednesday, May 24. During this period, participants had the opportunity to gain up-to-date theoretical knowledge from leading experts in the field, as well as valuable practical experience by performing procedures and techniques on simulators and anatomical models.
The event was attended by doctors Daniele Gemma, Ricardo Mori and John Frank Sliwinski , all from the Hemodynamics and Interventional Cardiology Unit of UICAR.
In addition to theoretical and practical sessions, they have encouraged the active participation of attendees through interactive discussions, clinical case studies and opportunities to ask questions of experts. This has ensured that medical trainees have a full understanding of the concepts presented and can apply them effectively in their clinical practice.
