Atrial fibrillation

Study aimed at the treatment of permanent atrial fibrillation that causes a very rapid ventricular rate with important clinical repercussions on the patient despite drugs at high doses and often poorly tolerated.

It consists of electrically isolating the atria from the ventricles by performing a burn on a structure called the AV node, having previously implanted a cardiac stimulation device (pacemaker). To do this, under local anesthesia, we take a catheter through the femoral vein in the groin to the heart (imperceptibly for the patient) and perform a burn asymptomatically.
