Cryoablation of Atrial Fibrillation.

Cryoablation of Atrial Fibrillation.

The most effective treatment for patients with paroxysmal or persistent atrial fibrillation.

It consists of electrically isolating the pulmonary veins that drain into the left atrium, where the main triggers of arrhythmia crises reside. To do this, under local anesthesia, we take some catheters through the femoral vein in the groin to the heart (in an imperceptible way for the patient), we access the left atrium through the interatrial septum and, under deep sedation, we perform cold burns that manage to isolate the veins in a few minutes.
