The Best in Class Awards are an initiative promoted by Gaceta Médica, a publication of the Wecare-U communication group, and the Chair of Innovation and Health Management of the Rey Juan Carlos University.
Their objective is to publicly recognize the best Primary Care center, the best hospital and the best services and units in the national territory, both public and private, that seek excellence in the care they provide to their patients.
The awarding of prizes is based on the score obtained by the candidates with the Patient Care Quality Index (ICAP) , which is established from the multivariate analysis of the data collected in the self-assessment questionnaires completed by hospitals and primary care centers through this website.
The Chair of Innovation and Health Management at Rey Juan Carlos University and the various scientific societies collaborate, providing rigor and independence to the healthcare quality assessment system.
The BiC Awards organization only makes public the winners and finalists in each category.
The winners receive a certificate at a public ceremony. In addition, the winners and finalists are included in the Guide to the Best Hospitals and Healthcare Services, which is published annually.
